NY Public Library Marble Lion Bookends

The world-renowned pair of marble lions that stand proudly before the majestic Beaux-Arts building of The New York Public Library have captured the imagination and affection of visitors from all over the world since the library opened in 1911. They are named Patience and Fortitude by Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia during the economic depression of the 1930's.  More at The New York Times Store.
